Considering the principles of our health care system, whose essence is man, where his health is the support of social development, welfare indicators achieved in our country are comparable with those of developed countries and the will of the Cuban state is to continue improving them on this basis is implemented the «National Program of Health and Quality of Life of the Cuban population», which is backed by the agreement 3790 of the Executive Committee of the Council of Ministers, where 10 areas of intervention are defined to combat those risk factors that relate to the major causes of sick and die Cubans.

The first congresses held, allowed to bring together over 800 participants from 17 countries in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean including Cuba, creating a rich exchange of experiences and efforts to improve the quality of life of our people, from diverse disciplines and realities of the participants.

The organization of the V International Congress «Health and Quality of Life» to be held from 4 to 6 November 2015 at Club Amigo Hotel in Guardalavaca, Holguin Province, 3rd tourist destination in the country, which aspires to grow in number of registered and participating countries, addressing diverse topics, with very specific scenarios for culture, physical activity, healthy recreation, social communication and community, and as flashpoints in contemporary as social determinants, nutrition, AIDS issues, promotion health among others, with emphasis on the need to consolidate multidisciplinary and intersectorial actions, proposing sensitize the community to the magnitude of the problem, assess the current situation in the continent and try to provide guidelines for future work.

The congress will enrich courses and workshops, both pre and post congress, including modalities such as lectures, roundtables, panels, conferences, symposia, oral presentations and poster.
