Marcus Matraga Award
We are pleased to present the 1st Marcus Matraga Award- Human Rights, promoted by the Latin American Union of Psychological Entities (Ulapsi). This award includes Ulapsi initiatives and investments for the defense of human rights by psychology, considering the historical centrality of this fight in Latin America. It is intended to recognize and appreciate the research and / or intervention work carried out by groups, with the participation of Psychology, whether professionals or students, with a view to guaranteeing and promoting Human Rights and fighting inequalities.
This will award pays tribute to the work done by Marcus Vinícius de Oliveira, a Brazilian psychologist, in fighting human rights, for the radical confrontation of social inequalities and for the decolonization of Latin American psychology.
Awarded to Latin American groups that, with the insertion and participation of psychologists and/or psychology students, make up the struggles for the promotion of human rights, the award values the collective dimension and the participation strategies in the production of Latin American Psychology.
The efforts of all players are very important to guarantee the dissemination of this award, in identifying local groups that carry out important human rights work for Latin America, which deserve to be recognized and referenced, and to encourage participation.
